Therapy bans and the claimed ‘hostile environment’
A Joint Statement from Core Issues Trust and The International Federation for Therapeutic and Counselling Choice. We live in a world of diverse ideologies and cultural practices. Banning and criminalising will not eliminate poor therapy. We call on the Government to ensure that in future its LGBT advisors are representative of different ideological, religious, non-religious and cultural perspectives rather than becoming a monoculture that leads to dogma and viewpoint discrimination.

Christian psychologists and pastoral counselors are decrying the fear mongering over “gay conversion therapy,” with tales of “electroshock” use in church basements, arguing that the state is trying to control legitimate therapy.

Dr Mike Davidson, who lives near Hillsborough, said that in both cases would-be clients approached a service provider asking them to publish a message linked to their sexual orientation and in both cases they were refused.

Whither Science?
CIT Director Dermot O’Callaghan writes: In 1994 John Bancroft, who later became director of the Kinsey Institute, said about research into sexual orientation, both heterosexual and homosexual, that it was an area “par excellence where scientific objectivity has little chance of survival.” He asks, might counsellors yet be faced with the question: does loyalty to gay ideology justify abandoning the Hippocratic principle, First do no harm to the client?

Pastoral Care or Accommodation?
Pastoral Care for all is an imperative for the church. The Bishop of Wolverhampton makes a false and dangerous claim by saying that same-sex attraction is ‘God-given’. This is contrary to Scripture and undermines the Creation order of one-man, one-woman marriage, that is designed to be a reflection of Christ and His bride, the Church. Claiming that homosexuality, or indeed bisexuality, is God-given suggests that God condones same-sex relationships. This, as is apparent throughout His Word, is not the case.”
The appalling choice: accept your homosexuality or euthanise
Radical gay activists and the helping professionals promoting their ideology have a great deal to answer for. They have created the idea that we are born gay, and that there is only one legitimate response to that fact, which is to embrace it…He simply doesn’t want to be gay and finds burdensome the limerent feelings he develops with young men. The only alternative he is aware of is to end his life, or, if the Victoria Derbyshire report is to believed, access to electro-shock therapy.
