The most important legal points achieved so far
Court proceedings reveal Judges’ observations:
- the inconsistencies in TFL’s application of its own procedures and by-laws in banning the CIT advert, but not the Stonewall advert, nor the British Humanist advert before it;
- that TFL had failed to properly protect evidence and to provide the court with documentary evidence
- that those presenting an ‘ex-gay’ identity are fully protected under the Equality Act of 2010 and that discrimination against this group is illegal, and
- that Mayor Boris Johnson had been dishonest (by denying he had personally acted in banning the advertisement) but was not legally dishonest in doing so.
