Summaries of the programmes are as follows1
Episode 1 (also 4th September)
Dan Hudson and James Barr present a podcast called 'A Gay and a Non-Gay'. They have received messages from listeners asking them to travel to Northern Ireland to see what life is like for LGBTQ+ people there. So they head to Belfast, where they find out why the church is a part of the story and discover something called 'gay conversion therapy'.
Episode 2 (also 11th September)
Dan and James come face to face with someone in Northern Ireland who offers 'talking therapy' – what many call 'gay conversion therapy' – to people who don’t want to be gay. For James, who’s gay, it’s a difficult encounter. They also hear Vicky Beeching’s story. Vicky spent years trying to change her sexuality. Doing so, she says, made her seriously ill.
Episode 3 (also 18th September)
Dan and James find themselves in church with their new friend, Granny. They definitely didn’t see that coming when they started the series. Oh – and they meet Hodor from Game of Thrones! His real name is Kristian Nairn. He tells them what it was like growing up gay in Northern Ireland and why he thinks things have got better for LGBTQ+ people there.
